Sometime around September last year, I wrote this poem. I wrote it after listening to the lakes by taylor swift, that song inspired me to struck the nerve and just do it because I wanted to do it for a long time. I’ve been writing poems for a long time now but this little piece was something which made me realize that (to paraphrase a quote) “trust your craft enough to study it, admire it and get inspired.” Hope you dig in!

Perseverance

heart pounding
telling you to do the thing that has always been at the back of your mind
but, oh!
mind,
can be a dark place 
a blurry sphere of unwanted thoughts
for you have lost all the belief
insecurities coursing through your vein
for you are afraid to fail again
but this is what life is
full of challenges
and new opportunities
forsooth it can be tough
yet little do you realize
that you are even tougher
the universe has satiated you with all the potential
it believes in you
ergo,
don't leave it in lurch
we all are made of stardust 
the whole universe resides within us
give it a shot
the repercussions might not be in your favour 
it can be hard as every bit
rather unpleasant to behold
but you tried,
you believed,
had the nerve to do it,
nevertheless you still learned something
all this time,
the better you was brewing within
never give up
better do it than stewing in your own doubts
life is like a mighty tree,
it offers you wisdom at every path
so,
leave the skepticism far behind
lose your inhibitions
the sun will rise again,
thou shalt shine again.

As much as I feel cringy whenever I look back at it the more it inspires me in some unfathomable ways.
